These are the days...
My days are consumed with these two darling faces. Many are the days that are filled with repetitive tasks... laundry, organizing, picking-up, meal planning, grocery shopping, etc. (You mommies out there know what I am talking about!)
But there are the glimmering moments that make the mundane meaningful:
Cuddling on the couch to read book upon book.
Combing and styling curly, strawberry blonde hair to the demands of a 3 year old.
Spontaneously playing hide-and-seek.
Putting on a "wedding" in the early morning hours while still in our pajamas for two imaginary friends of the darling 3 year old.
It is these moments I am really trying to tarry in.
Before long they will just be memories.
These days we are living in will be "the days." The days I look back on and wish I could relive.
I know I will miss the days where we can just play outside all afternoon...
And I KNOW there will be days I wish I could snuggle with my roly-poly baby love again.
So, here's to the days... in the moment they seem SO long but truly they are SO very short.

Happy, happy birthday...
...to the love of my life!
Mitch.
I am so so so so so so so so glad you were born on this day. The last (almost) 9 years as your wife have been fabulous. Well, most of them ;)
I love you more than you'll ever know.
~~~
Scarlett and I had so much fun preparing for "Daddy's birthday party."
We enjoyed a cozy night at home with homemade pizza, salad and finished the evening with cupcakes and ice cream.
Mitch, you are very loved by your 3 girls!!!
Ivy at 4 months
Our beautiful Ivy,
You are 4 months today. Your presence in our life is purely pleasant. You are a literal angel baby. You eat well, sleep well, play well, laugh a lot and cuddle like crazy. You are our little sunshine bear!
You wear a size 3 diaper and 6-12 month clothes. Believe it or not, although you were born at 8 lbs 4 oz (a whole 2 pounds less than Scarlett at birth), you have already exceeded your big sissy's weight when she was 4 months. We go to the doctor next week so I will post your 2 and 4 month stats after that. You LOVE your bed. You just doze off to sleep all on your own. Quite the contrast from your sissy who basically wrote the song Wagon Wheel!!! Speaking of your big sissy, you ADORE her (and she you). You make me laugh all the time because you love to squeal and scream. When you wake up in the morning, you just giggle and screech until I come to get you. You have gorgeous thick, auburn hair. We think you are such a little beauty!!
Daddy and sissy and I are so thankful to God for giving us you. It is so fun to watch you grow. We love you!!!!
