Everything is going really well with Scarlett and I. She is growing so fast. I had my 28 week appointment last Thursday. That is the fun appointment where you get to drink the sugary orange drink to test for gestational diabetes. To be honest, I did not think the drink was bad at all, but I am a total sugar hound so no surprise there! I passed the test, no diabetes for us (thank you Jesus). I talked to my doctor a lot about what to expect during labor, etc. She really eased my mind. Mitch and I have been taking a 12 week childbirth (and so much more!) class that we have found to be incredibly enlightening. This coming week will be our 11th class, which makes the time seem like it is flying by even more.
I feel really good, which I am incredibly thankful for. There are a couple aches and pains, but nothing worth complaining about.
Scarlett's nursery is coming along very well. Mitch and I have been working hard on it. I really want to post pictures, but I think I will wait for the official unveiling once everything is complete. The only things that we are waiting on is the curtains/bumper/dust-ruffle (which my mom is working very hard on...I cannot wait to see how they turn out), our chair which should be coming in by the end of this month, a floor lamp and then a baby! It is so sweet, Mitch loves to just go in her room and sit (right now we just sit on an exercise ball we have rolled in there, hahaha). He loves to look through the little clothes in her closet and talk about what she will look like. We just cannot imagine what the moment will be like when we see her precious face. We talk about it a lot, but still cannot dream of what it will feel like.
So many other things to update on as well. Mitch is working very hard in school. He said that from January 2010 through December 2010 is supposed to be the hardest 2 semesters in dental school. It's because he is wearing several hats all at once... seeing patients regularly, working in the lab and taking heavy science classes. So, if you think of him, please say a prayer that God will give him perseverance and focus to push through. He handles the stress very well.
We had a wonderful Christmas with our families. New Years Eve is not a big favorite for Mitch and I for some reason... but we do love the start of a new year.
I have some pictures to post (especially an updated belly pic!), but I am going to have to hold off until my next post, which I promise will not be another 10 weeks!
I hope all is well with all of our sweet friends and family. Mitch and I pray that 2010 will be a blessed year for each of you.
