Feeling crafty.

This is our last weekend as a family of 3. I cannot believe how incredibly fast this pregnancy has gone. I am so thankful to God that this pregnancy has been so smooth and am hopeful that will ring true for Ivy's delivery as well :)

I found a tutorial for a darling burlap wreath (which seem to be all the rage!) and thought it would be a fun project for Scarlett and I this weekend. Here is the full tutorial if you'd like to make one for your house! It was less than $10 for the supplies! (for the basic wreath)

I wanted to make it for my hospital room door as a way that Scarlett would know that's where Ivy and I are when she comes to meet her for the first time (I am SO looking forward to that moment). And then we can put it on our front door as a way to continue celebrating Ivy's arrival.

We added some "girly" touches and Ivy's name and plan to put her birthdate, weight and length on the little teapot.
We are tickled with how it turned out :)

Scarlett painted the teapot and letters for the wreath along with a little birdhouse she picked out.

And then she embellished the birdhouse after it was all dry.

I so hope she and I can make a habit of doing crafts together even after baby sissy gets here.

Mitch had several things to take care of outside this afternoon so Scarlett played away with the sprinkler ball while I tried to lay down for a sec (let's just say Scarlett would not take a nap this today and the timing could not be worse for the whole "no nap" shenanigans a 3 year old tries to pull).

I am no super-blogger by any means, so my technical blog knowledge is minimal... But, apparently Google Reader will be going away on July 1st. I have been having trouble seeing the blogs I love to read even in my blogspot dashboard, so I don't know if that is linked with the whole Google Reader deal. Anyhow, I joined Bloglovin and have really liked it so far. It makes reading all of your favorite blogs really easy from one  main window. Maybe you have already joined Bloglovin... I would recommend it!

Fashion show.

Scarlett and I have been spending this week soaking up our last days as just mommy and Scarlett. It's the weirdest thing.... I feel like she is still so very much my baby (and I probably always will!). But yet, I know that when I hold little, newborn Ivy in my arms in just a few days Scarlett is going to look even more like a big girl! Somedays I look at Scarlett's face when I'm tucking her into bed or just reading to her and I think to myself, "she looks exactly like she did the first time I held her in the hospital."

We had a little impromptu fashion show in Scarlett's room...

First you must hydrate.

Then make sure your audience is seated.

Callie -- seated but clearly uninterested :)

And voila! The show begins :)

One thing leads to another... and a tea party ensues!

I have felt a little down about this "ending" to Scarlett and I's days together. You know, just she and I. However, I know that the beginning of the transition will potentially be a little bumpy and then we will have even sweeter days as Ivy becomes a part of our precious days here at home. I always think to myself and will certainly make it a habit to always tell my girls, there is nothing like a sister ;)

The preggo sisterhood.

This is something that, because of timing, I have not posted about on here, yet. But before time runs out I have to tell y'all that I am currently part of what we will call "the preggo sisterhood." That is... my sister, sister-in-law and I are all pregnant right now. How fun is that?!?!

So here are the 2 darling Kentucky belles with their pregnant tummies...

left: My older sister, Ryan  right: My brother's wife, Karinne

I feel SO excited about their babies coming!!!! You get excited about your own children and then it's like pure joy to watch your siblings (and their sweet spouses) have children :)

A little back story...

Ryan and her husband Derek were married on September 23, 2012. Their baby BOY, Declan Howard, is set to enter the world on September 23, 2013. (Ha!!! the dates... I love it :)

My brother Chaz married his precious bride Karinne on December 21, 2012. Their baby GIRL, whose name is not set just yet, is set to enter the world on October 23, 2013.

Oh how I love these sweet babies already. Scarlett loves to pray for Declan Howard and baby "q-tip" as she has so endearingly named Karinne's baby girl.

So, that means my parents will get a new grand-baby in July, September and October... going from 1 grandchild to 4 grandchildren all before the end of 2013!!! For the Lord is good to us.

As for a little update on Miss Ivy Glenn...

We now have a paper-chain countdown going for her (prospected) arrival. Although we talk about her coming all the time, I wanted a visual way that Scarlett could see and understand how soon she is going to be a big sister.

She got to decorate the special, "Happy Birthday" link for Ivy's big day... Princesses was the theme she chose :)

And here we are... 38+ weeks and going strong.

I am feeling pretty good. I had awful swelling toward the end with Scarlett and I am thankful to say I have NONE with Ivy. Aside from just feeling completely exhausted, I have nothing bad to report. Thank you Lord!

the eagle has landed.

Well, by now the eagle has landed back home. That is, my mama. She was with us for a week and Scarlett and I LOVED it. Mitch, with my full permission, headed to Colorado for a bro-trip with my Dad, brother and brother-in-law. Since I am within days of delivering, my mama came as back-up just because you never know what this sweet babe may decide to do. She stayed put until her Daddy got back home and I am hoping she will do so for at least 13 more days.

Here are Scarlett and "Nons" enjoying some italian ice in our little neighborhood.

Here is a little update on how Miss Ivy is looking.... I was a day shy of 37 weeks here...
My sweet doctor swears I am not having another 10 pound baby, but y'all sometimes I feel like I am...

So, while Nonni was with us we galavanted around to all our favorite spots... Chick-fil-A, T.J. Maxx, Homegoods, Tuesday Morning, a furniture store, rug store... We like to decorate and I know once we get to our new spot in Tennessee I will have my hands full, so we tried to do a little prep work. Scarlett was cracking us up because she loves to give her opinion on things we find. She kept saying, "Oh mama, I think this is beautiful!" or "I do not care for that." :)

But you know what all that running around will do to a girl...
I have had several mommies ask me about Scarlett and her "bappy" as she calls it.  She only uses it for sleep (why it's not in her mouth here I do not know)... and it is just not an issue we have decided to tackle right now. I am sure I will have at least one post about when and how we will someday do without her paci. There are just too many changes going on in her little world right now to make it an issue!

There is nothing like having your mama under your roof to cook for you. Amen? Scarlett and Nonni made homemade breadsticks for our italian dinner one evening. So yummy.

Here is a picture my mom text to me while I was out on an errand... She and Scarlett were headed to the playground in true playground fashion :)

As for all our boys... They were riding rapids and climbing mountains....and texting us pictures like this...  More power to them!

Thanks for a lovely week, mom!!! I am literally counting down the days until you are back here with us...

8 years.

Mitch and I celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary today. It is hard to believe that many years have passed since we stood before our family and friends and said "I do, for forever."
The past 8 years have been wonderful. Some years were harder than others. Some years brought more joy than others. But I cherish each for what the Lord allowed to take place in our life.

I have to say, I recently realized that Mitch could bring me chocolates and a bouquet of flowers every day for a year, but still nothing would be sexier than seeing him on the video monitor in the middle of the night in just his boxer-briefs as he goes to console Scarlett if she wakes up crying. Seriously! It's like you cannot imagine the things you would find romantic until you see your husband as the father of your children.

Mitch, you are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me aside from Jesus' unfailing love that gave me salvation. I love you more with each passing day. I cherish the way you tenderly care for Scarlett and I. I love how you love to play with Scarlett. How you are frazzled by nothing. How you trust God. And how you genuinely are interested in others. You will always be the living-end in my eyes!!!

Lord willing, we will share many more anniversaries together. I am so proud to be your wife.
I will love you forever and ever, amen!

Our day in iPhone pics.

We had a relatively low-key weekend. Mitch has been on-call since Wednesday of last week so that keeps us close to home. It was so nice though because, although he did have to go into the clinic on Saturday and Sunday morning, he got no calls over the weekend. I made a to-do list for us and was so hopeful to complete it...and as of 10:00 p.m. last night we did! Yay!! We purged and cleaned out our attic, I got my hospital bag packed and cleaned out the laundry room cabinets so we would be ready for packers/movers. I don't know if you can relate, but cleaning out things like that is like a rush for me. I think it's such a good feeling to have just what you need and not a bunch of junk piled up.

Scarlett and I hit the ground running early on this Monday morning. Frist stop, Callie girl went to the groomer. She looks thrilled doesn't she? She really does love it and she will love to be clean shaven for the summer-time temperatures we have already been sweating in.

Sweating. I cannot avoid it. I am hot all the time. So, my constant companion -- this tervis tumbler. These things are amazing.

This little self portrait is for my sister... Although it's tough to see in the slightly blurry pic, I am so enjoying the little, kate spade anchor necklace she gave me for my birthday. Thanks Sissy!!!

We put Ivy's car seat in a couple weeks ago. I am loving the idea of a backseat full of babes! And, I know you cannot miss our beloved King Julien (from the motion picture Madagascar) pictured here... He is, well...He is a character. And so we currently have a stuffed King Julien at our house. He may or may not be intended for someone very special for Father's Day :)

Scarlett and I headed through downtown on our way to the bank on Parris Island. I sure am going to miss these beautiful tree-lined streets and oh, the spanish moss.

And the darling waterfront B&B's and homes...

Whoop! And here is Tropical Storm Andrea at her finest. We have actually not seen too much of her since last Thursday. The rain brings humidity around here like I have never seen. Oh girls, it can make or break your hair-day, that is for sure.

Parris Island -- they make Marines. Here are some recruits marching. Scarlett loves to roll down the window and get a closer look.

We ran our morning errands and then enjoyed a little playtime and lunch with our darling neighbors. Scarlett and Colette were covering lots of ground with the popper train :)

Colette is a little red-headed beauty! It is so special to see Scarlett play so gently with her.

And now, it is nap-time at our house and I think I hear storm clouds rolling in...

I'm just finishing up paying some bills and looking over my planner for the weeks ahead. It's hard to believe Ivy will here in a little over 3 weeks! Grow strong sweet baby love :)

I hope you are enjoying this Monday even if it's in what appears to be the most menial way.
