Muffins and a morning nap

This morning Scarlett and I made some blueberry muffins. Before I could even get the blueberries folded into the batter, my little assistant was fast asleep. That's okay, it was just a mix from Kroger... so maybe it was not that exciting. I hope we can enjoy lots of time in the kitchen together though, I loved cooking with my mama!

Oh and I wanted to update y'all on Scarlett's latest trip to the pediatrician. We went on Monday morning... Scarlett is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. She is already weighing in at 10 lbs. 11.5 ounces and has grown 2 and 3/4 inches in 3 weeks! She is almost 2 feet tall! They said she is very healthy and is obviously growing well. No wonder she is such a good little eater! We are so thankful!!!

Stretches and Smiles

Scarlett's favorite thing to do in the morning when she wakes up (after she has filled her little belly) is to lay on her changing table and stretch... and stretch and stretch. I guess after being so scrunched up for weeks she loves to feel the freedom of reaching as far as she can with her little arms and legs. It is so sweet to listen as she grunts and coos... She will also crack a few smiles if you are lucky.

Disney '09 Reunion

You may remember that back in December 2 dear friends of mine, Scarlett (in utero) and I took a little trip to Walt Disney World. It was simply magical. Well, we had a little "reunion" last Friday evening... so we had to pull out Scarlett's Mickey ears and capture the moment. It was so fun... Now we just have to plan a trip where Scarlett can enjoy everything, not just he wonderful food mommy ate! Plus, Aunt KT wants her to meet all of the characters and talk to them just like she does (which, LV and I still do not feel comfortable with!).

It seems like just yesterday Mitch and I drove to Tennessee to pick up this little angel puppy...

Then all the sudden she is all grown up. She is just as sweet as she can be.

Mr. Watch Fox

Scarlett's Watch Fox was a gift from her Uncle Chaz. He got it for her at the Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. Mr. Watch Fox sits on top of Scarlett's crib, looking out for her as she sleeps. He is also quite fun to play with. Thanks Uncle Chaz!

2 Weeks

It is hard to believe Scarlett is already 2 weeks old. She is changing and growing everyday. Her eyes are getting clearer and she recognizes her mommy's voice. She is already sleeping 5 hours straight at night (I think that is one of the pros of having a 10 pound baby!). She is simply a JOY!

Scarlett's Outings

Scarlett has had 2 outings now... She has been to the doctor with mommy and to the pediatrician for a weight check. She weighed 9 lbs 15 oz at the pediatrician yesterday which is only 3 oz from her birth weight only 1 week after birth. Yeah! I am telling you, this little girl is an eater! It was so fun to dress her up and take her out. We are going to enjoy doing that together for a long time!

It was a BEAUTIFUL spring day when we brought our baby girl home. The tulips were fully bloomed and the sun was shining. I balled the whole way home because I was so excited to be outside after being in the hospital for 5 and a half days!!! (a little more than I had bargained for)

Scarlett got discharged first thing Saturday morning, so we dressed her up and had fun documenting the day we had been waiting for. I, on the other hand, was not discharged until 1:00 p.m. so we did a lot of waiting... But, it was very worth it. What was our house even like before this little bundle of joy was here?
