Pictures of our sweet girl

Mama and I had fun doing a little photo-shoot after Scarlett had her hospital photos taken.

One of the best things about being a PaPaw... nap-time!

Y'all, I could not ever have imagined how wonderful our Scarlett would be. Truly, our cup runneth over Lord! So much has happened over the past 3 days!
(p.s. I know I have been a little absent for a while and haven't explained much about our birth experience... that is because it went a little different than planned. So, here is the "nut-shell" version: went in to be induced at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Was on petocine for 17 hours with no progress of labor. Made decision to have c-section at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday... for many reasons (i.e. Scarlett was weighing large, she was not dropping, I was still only 2 cm after being on petocine for 17 hours, etc.) Had c-section on Tuesday... Scarlett was born at 1:18 p.m. --- greatest moment of Mitch and I's lives to date!!!! At around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday I was having a lot of pain at my incision. The doctor on call came and examined me and discovered I had developed a LARGE hematoma at the incision sight. She ordered to have a pressure bandage placed and would check back to see if it helped. She came back at 7:30 p.m. and said a second operation was needed ASAP. Ugh. So, on Wednesday morning, I had what I call my "second" c-section. They had to completely open the incision again and drained a 200 mL hematoma. Yikes. So, I have had 2 c-sections this week but one baby. Ha! As crazy as this has been and as totally unexpected as things went I would do it all over again if it meant I would get to have our Scarlett... seriously, I am crazy about her! So, that is why I have been a little silent after the last couple posts. God is good and we are on the mend.)

  1. Praise the Lord you are doing okay and that your baby girl is thriving! I would love to talk to you about how it's going with her!! And I want to meet her! I hope you are on the mend, and I just know you're eating her up! Erin!! She is so pretty! I thought Hannah looked like an older baby when she was born, but my! Your little one is just ahead of the game! :) Give my congrats to Mitch as well. I'm so happy for both of you! And I hope that you felt more prepared for all of those unexpected things that popped up as a result of taking Bradley classes. I know things don't always go as we plan, but I know you guys are thrilled that the Lord's plans for you included that bundle of joy!

  2. Mitch, Erin, and Scarlett,

We are so extremely excited for you! Being a parent is an awesome and amazing experience. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you embark on this adventure together! We are praying that Scarlett will have a double portion of His Spirit and that she will grow to know Him and love Him more everyday!
