Wordless Wednesday (or maybe not so wordless)

Well, actually today's word is WOOHOO! Why you might ask? Because Scarlett has taken 2 naps already today. Mind you, they last about 30 minutes... but I don't care, we are making progress. She was awake from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. yesterday, ah! Seriously, she did not shut her beautiful blue eyes once, I was watching. So, this morning I was determined to start out on the right foot. Well, with help from Daddy (who is officially a 3rd year now (holla!) and is currently studying from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. everyday for his boards which he will take July 7th) we did it. I have been trying very hard to implement the Baby Wise eat-wake-sleep pattern and this is the first day I can say we are actually implementing the sleep portion. So, I thought I would show you my sweet little napper...

And I have to give a little thanks to Graco for making the most amazing sound machine ever... I think it helps so much. It is the little thing in this picture that I think resembles R2D2 (am I spelling that right?). My picture did not turn out very well, because I wanted you all to see the darling pillow my precious friend Jill made for Scarlett. I will have to take another one some day. Go here to see Jill's amazing work: http://www.jillgibsonhamilton.com/The_Scout_House/Home___The_Scout_House_by_Jill_G..html

I love reading my friends' blogs, and there is something I would like to implement that my friend Aidan does on her blog. She has something she calls 'Mosaic' which is basically a short concise way to say what is/has been going on lately in bullet point form (Lori, if you are reading this...haha, bullet points!!!) Because mommy-hood is so busy and I would like to update (and document for memory's sake) what is going on in our life, I figured this will be a great way to do so. I will call my report, "This&That." So here is the first:

This&That:

--Scarlett is 10 weeks old now. She is so observant and loves to "talk." She would "talk" all day if she could! She LOVES bath-time. It is so cute to watch her little face light up as soon as I put her in the tub. She just kicks and smiles like there is no tomorrow. She got her 2 month shots last week which was quite traumatic for all 3 of us. She did great though. She sleeps about 6-7 hours through the night before needing to eat. She is just a little angel, except for when she is hungry.

-- Like I said, Mitch is studying for his written boards which you take after your second year. He "finished" up things at school yesterday and is now on a studying warpath. He goes to the library to study which makes me sad, but seriously, he could get nothing done at home because Scarlett and I would beg for his attention. He is amazingly focused and works so hard...goodness, I love that man! He is going to be traveling to Uganda in late July on a dental mission trip with the organization I work for (www.mpowerapproach.org). They will be training 6 Ugandan believers to be community dentists. Very cool!

-- This may seem random, but our little next door neighbor Ms. Jacqueline informed us a couple weeks ago that she is in the final stages of bone cancer. It broke our hearts because we had no idea. So, we go check on her several times a day because she lives alone and has no family. She loves the Lord though so I love to hear her talk about heaven...it is so sweet. Just yesterday she was telling Mitch that she hopes when she gets to heaven that she can wash Jesus' feet. Precious.

-- I know there is so much more to say, but my little napper is now awake,
so good-bye for now!

Here are some recent pictures of our little doll baby...
