Lately on the range...

This past week seemed to fly by... Here is what we have been up to lately.

Miss Scarlett thinks it is so fun to put on her Cinderella dress and ask Mitch and I if we want to take a picture with her (like she is Cinderella the Disney celebrity). She poses and asks if we would like a hug and then says, "Okay, now it's someone else's turn...." She then pretends to greet people and pose with them. Oh dear :)

Always being in the spotlight can wear a girl out...

Big news at our house... Scarlett is now in a big girl bed! Here are Scarlett and Mitch testing out her new mattress.

We went into full project mode here beginning last weekend working on transitioning Scarlett's room and moving things around for Ivy's nursery/arrival (!!!!)

I bought Scarlett's bed on big-time clearance and had a coupon from Pottery Barn Kids several months ago.... It's the Allie Iron Bed:

Then it was on to furniture because we knew we wanted to use everything that was currently in Scarlett's room for Ivy's nursery. So, we tried to find places in town that sold vintage/used furniture. We found this dresser and 2 nightstands at a fabulous price... Grandma's dresser from 1971 needed a facelift. Mitch and I worked our fannies off all weekend on just the furniture painting potion of this project...

BEFORE SHOTS

Transformation... We knew we wanted them to be a really soft blue....

Priming...

AFTER
We are happy with how they turned out.

And so the transformation began...
Here is our 1st baby.... as the crib comes down in her room ;(

It was so sweet because she understood it was a special transition for her to get a "big girl" room AND she knew it was all to prepare for baby sister...

I don't have true finished pics of her room just yet... we need to add some lamps, a mirror, some wall art.... Our theme was simple, chic, princess. You know, not the licensed wear bedspread and shams (nothing against that... just not our taste) but "princessy" colors with nice finishes.

Here are her curtains (found by my precious mama and sister on clearance at PB Kids!) and headboard...

Duvet cover (pink geometric) and sheets (pale blue dot)

Our little monkey loves jumping on the bed! And thankfully she loves sleeping in it too!

Okay, can I just say... how did we make it through SJ's first (almost) 3 years without a video monitor?!?  In preparing for Ivy's arrival and our recent transition to big-girl-bed, we splurged on a video monitor. We got it on sale and had a coupon (thanks to my darling neighbor Lizzy!) so we paid $70 less than the list price after tax. Woohoo! This is the one we got and it has operated very nicely so far. It's a multiview so it comes with 2 cameras.

It's so nice to SEE that she is tucked in and sleeping well in her cozy bed...

In other news and happenings...
It's children's consignment sale season people!! We ran to a sale about 30 minutes away yesterday with my neighbor (Lizzy) and her babe... first of all, we were a literal traveling circus. Hilarious. I think I had to pull the car over at least 3 times (mostly for my darling dear!).
Anyhow, the sale was kind-of a bust, but Scarlett did get this grab-bag of horses for $5... :)

Last night Scarlett got to go over and play with her little friend Mason...his Daddy is one of the LT's Mitch works with. So, it was Daddy night while the mommies hit up sushi happy hour (yummy!). How cute are these two ready for a little ride together?

And here are just some recent pics of my sweet girl...

  1. Love her little bedroom and we had that monitor too and loved it but we bought it when I was expecting K, therefore it's now 5 + years old: time for a new one but who knows if we'll splurge or not. LOVE video monitors though - so reassuring!
